Who we are

The name Cyclize originates from ‘to cyclize’. In chemistry, this refers to a reaction where a carbon chain gets closed into a ring. In the same way, Cyclize wants to transform the carbon value chain into a ring with a disruptive technology.

As a spin-out of the University of Stuttgart, early on we were driven by impact. From academic research on CO2 splitting we developed a patented plasma process for non-fossil syngas. By scaling our solution we prove that impact and economical success go hand in hand in a sustainable future.

2018

Research & technology invention

Our journey started with a research project about splitting CO2 to produce synthetic fuels for the shipping industry.

2020

First self-developed plasma technology

A as result of our strong successes, we developed the first plasma drivers having an electrical power of 35 W.

2021

Proof-of-Principle

Our ongoing developments lead us to prove the production of syngas utilizing waste and CO2.

2022

EXIST grant funding

Following our strong technical results of scaling our plasma to 1 kW of electrical power while maintaining high effiency we applied for several patent application. The successful EXIST - Transfer or Research grant funding forms the foundation of scaling our breakthrough technology to industrial scale.

2023

Proof-of-Concept

The continued rapid scaling of our technology leads to building and operating a lab scale mini plant testing different feedstock in our unique process.

2024

Raising our seed funding

Our successful seed funding enabled us to grow our team, strengthen our commercial activities towards defossilizing the chemical industry and fully focus on scaling our solution.

2025

Proof-of-Plant

Beginning of 2025 we reached our biggest technical milestone. Building and operating our pilot plant proves the technical feasability of utilizing plastic waste and CO2 to produce non-fossil syngas. That marks the foundation of our next scaling phase to commercialize our waste-to-syngas process to an industrial scale and validating our trustful partnership along the value chain.

Join OUr mission

We believe in a carbon circular economy powered by our plasma, built on waste and CO2.

For our next scaling phase, we are looking for investors and partners to join us to scale industrial deployment.
